Time is almost Up

For the past months, I have been scouring the net and devouring articles related to endtime events and Biblical prophesies that are unfolding right before our eyes at an accelerated if not whirlwind pace. As we examine the confluence of events taking place in unprecedented fashion - haywire in the geophysical realm which includes increasing rumblings (earthquakes), appearance of sinkholes, stirrings of the waters (tsunamis and hurricanes), flooding, scorching heat, etc., the political upheavals and civil unrest in nations across the globe, outbreak of diseases, breakdown of social and moral values as depicted by outlandish celebrations and exultations over the legal triumph of gay marriage --- whew, it certainly looks like malevolent spirits long chained are now on the loose spreading gloom and doom and randomly shooting unsuspecting (snoozing) mankind with their flaming darts. Truly we are now in the eleventh hour and the battle rages for the souls of men. We are in these “perilous” times when the Son of Man is poised to return at any moment.

When the disciples asked the Lord Jesus what would be the signs of his coming and of the end of the age, he replied:

“ Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming “ I am the Messiah,” and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:4-14, NIV)

“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

“It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.” (Luke 17:26-27)

The apostle Paul also had these to say:

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” (2 Timothy 3:1-4)

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons (NLT 2007).

Reality check… Aren’t all these coming to pass in this generation? Can we turn a blind eye from the reality and the truth of God’s Word? Nope…They are as bright as a noon day sun, only that majority of mankind, having deceived by the fallen cherubim, prefer darkness to light.

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. (Jon 3:19)

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Cor 4:4)

The End of the Age

The last days are the days when the dispensation of grace (the opportunity for men to come to Christ for salvation) shall soon be over and shall be replaced by God’s righteous judgment against the wicked. Hollywood for all we know, has masterfully shown the world catastrophic events depicting what it would be like when the end comes. Independence Day, 2012, The Day after Tomorrow, Armageddon. Name it. World War 3 (which is all about zombies), the fall of America (Olympus has fallen, White House Down), Fallen Angels, The Dark Knight Rises, Twilight Zone Series (which depict the existence of evil and vampire spirits) and countless others. Theirs is known as predictive programming meant to condition the minds of the masses of impending doom. However, the films, predictive as they are of the tribulations to occur, are devoid of any redemptive value and never point us to the one whose name, blood and Word have the power to save our souls -- our Lord Jesus.

Folks, the spiritual war is intensifying from all fronts. The secular music industry is marked by bizaare and eerie videos as well as live performances of artists influenced by dark, unseen forces. Persecution against Christianity is now global and Radical Islamists are exerting their presence like never before, wantonly sowing terror and chopping off Christians’ heads in defense of a religion of hatred. http://rescuechristians.org/

And just when you think this persecution does not happen in a nation blessed and prospered by the Creator, check THIS out and ponder.

Now is the time to choose which side you’re on.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12)

For those caught up with the entanglements of this world, there is only one way to be saved from the tribulation that is soon to come... Turn to the one who shed holy blood on the cross for the sins of mankind --JESUS CHRIST.

Salvation is found in no one else for there is no other name from heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)

John 14:21 I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me.

What does he ask of you now?

Own up -- Admit you have sinned against heaven and repent (have a change of heart and turn from sins)

Believe and be owned up

In Acts, a man asked the apostle Paul and his co-laborer Silas what must he do to be saved.

And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household. (Acts 3:16)

Remember John 3:16? (For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but will have eternal life.) (Emphasis mine).

To believe is to place one’s self under the authority and Lordship of Christ - to surrender one's will and personal initiative. It does not mean mere head knowledge or superficial acknowledgment of the savior.

Receive the free gift of God’s salvation now. Do not tarry for the door of mercy and grace that once was wide open is slowly closing. Soon it will be completely shut before the bowls of wrath of the Holy One will be poured in righteous judgment againt the wicked, stone-hearted and rebellious. Nobody would have any excuse and say "Tao lang po" (I am just human).

The Father long offered the son -- He who was spotless from the beginning, He who was the Word through whom the heavens and the earth was created, He who is the delight of heaven, the God who became flesh and dwelt among us, the Immanuel -- God with us, who for a moment, shed his divine clothing and gave up his divine rights in submission to the Father to offer himself as a sacrifice for our sins. Yes, he is the Son of man who stood in the gap and bridged the chasm between the fallen and the Mighty, between the stained and the pure, between the sinful and the holy. He is the same God-man who became sin and whose holy body bore sin's judgment so that as we believe, we shall be made right or justified before the Father. He is the same man who conquered death, opened the gates of heaven, provided sweet access to the throne of grace, revealed who God really is and gave believers the right to call God "Abba." He is the one who endured the depths of rejection and humiliation, the spit, whips and reviling of men whom he lovingly fashioned in his pre-incarnate existence. Ironically, these same men did not recognize him. Worse, they even condemned him.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. (John 1:10-11).

Christ was the slaughtered lamb, but hear ye, all who have ears, He will soon return as the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Wake up, Church. With what has been happening around us, it is clear that sinister forces have become more aggressive in invading the land. Let us therefore put on the full armor of God to withstand the enemy. Remember, greater is He who is in us than He who is in the world (I John 4:4). Let the sword of the spirit pierce and melt the fiery darts of the evil one. We know the script from beginning to end. The battle was long won on the cross.

This is a time to fall prostrate before the Father, get our house ready and snatch souls from the spell of the enemy. It's the final countdown. Let us be counted among the wise virgins whose lamps are filled with the oil of the spirit. Seek the One while he may still be found.

"Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is never in vain." (I Corinthians 15:58)

Heaven awaits those who endure.

We are getting closer to our home where there is no more night, no more tears, no more pain, where joy and wonder upon wonder never cease, where our hungry hearts and longings will enter rest.

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:2-3, KJV)

But as it is written, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him." (1 Cor 2:9, ISV)
